Get involved this Earth Day and join your community at events across the city.
Each year, Earth Day is celebrated on April 22nd. Around the world, people come together to raise awareness about important environmental issues like climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. This day is an important reminder for all of us to take action and do our part to protect the planet.
If you’re looking to get involved, why not attend one of the fun-filled events taking place across Southend? These events are a great opportunity to meet like-minded people, support local environmental efforts and make a difference in your community.
Here are some of the events taking place across the city to celebrate Earth Day:

If you’re unable to attend in person, there are still plenty of meaningful ways to support Earth Day from home. Small, everyday changes can make a big difference!
- Try reducing your use of single-use plastics, such as water bottles
- Switch off electronics when not in use
- If you can, use public transport, walk or cycle your journey instead of driving
- Embrace Spring by planting seeds in your garden or in pots indoors, and watch them grow
Earth Day is all about building habits that protect our planet. Not just for one day, but all year round. Whether you attend a local event or make simple changes at home, your actions add up!
