Shoebury Litter Pickers- High Street and East Beach
Much like other parts of Southend that are directly on the coast, Shoeburyness struggles with litter and pollution. It gets left behind on streets and beaches or is washed up from the Thames, before making its way into our waters.
To help combat this, local residents rallied together and formed Shoebury Litter Pickers. They are a friendly community group who want to keep Shoebury’s streets and beaches clean, safe, and enjoyable for all.
By spending a small amount of time collecting litter each week, their efforts make a real difference to the area whilst helping protect the local wildlife.
Get Involved!
Join the group on their next litter pick- everyone is welcome. Most litter picks last around 1 hour, but you’re welcome to join for as long as you’d like.
The group meets regularly at two set times:
When: Every Monday evening
Time: 7 pm
Where: Meet outside The Shoeburyness Hotel, 1 High Street, Shoeburyness, Southend-on-Sea, SS3 9AJ
and
When: Every 2nd Saturday of the month
Time: 10 am
Where: Meet outside The Shoeburyness Hotel, 1 High Street, Shoeburyness, Southend-on-Sea, SS3 9AJ
