LoCase
LoCASE (Low Carbon Across the South and East) was an EU-funded project led by Kent County Council, with Southend City Council acting as a partner. Launched in 2020, the project aimed to support Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) by providing free advice, sustainability training, and grant funding. Its goal was to help local businesses grow while adopting low-carbon methods to protect the environment.
Through LoCASE, businesses offering low-carbon goods and services could access grants of up to £10,000. In addition, free training was offered to help SMEs operate in a more environmentally friendly way while saving money.
The project successfully assisted over 1,200 businesses across the South East, contributing to a reduction of 5,263 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions annually.
More information, including project outcomes and partner details, is available on the dedicated LoCASE website.
