Green Love Southend
Green Love Southend was a six-week initiative led by Southend City Council aimed at helping residents, businesses, schools and organisations reduce their environmental impact and move the city toward net zero carbon emissions.
In 2022, local residents and businesses were invited to pledge 10 minutes a week to learn and to support the council on its path to net zero. By attending energy and carbon workshops, participants would better understand their energy bills, manage invoices (to support businesses), and explore technologies that could reduce energy use and carbon emissions.
A total of 23 businesses and organisations took part in the programme, all receiving support to reduce plastic use and begin their net-zero journey within their organisations.
