Southend to see EV buses in use later this month
From the end of September 2025, Southend will be served by its first fully electric bus route.
First Bus route 25 will be one of four bus routes across Essex initially to run on fully electric, zero-emission buses. This route takes passengers between Southend, Rayleigh, Wickford and Basildon.
The project is being delivered through a partnership between First Bus and Essex County Council. Eventually, the project will involve a total of 55 electric buses operating across Essex.
