Did you visit the Climate Change team at Southend's first-ever Business Show? We spoke with local businesses about sustainability and what support they need to go green.
This week, the Council hosted its first-ever Southend Business Show. Held at the Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, the event aimed to support the growth of Southend's economy by showcasing local businesses and service providers.
Visitors were welcomed by more than 100 exhibitors, including the Council's Climate Change team, each promoting their services and highlighting opportunities for collaboration and employment within the city.
Among those who visited the Southend Climate Action stand were Councillor Cheryl Nevin, Cabinet Member for Civic Pride, and Councillor Daniel Cowan, Leader of the Council (pictured).
Throughout the day, the Climate Change team spoke with a wide range of businesses, from local sole traders to larger companies looking to invest in Southend. These conversations provided valuable insights into the development of sustainable products and services, the challenges businesses have faced, and the successes they have achieved along the way.
Businesses were also invited to complete a survey to share their views on how the Council can best support them and other local organisations in becoming more sustainable.
