Energy
With the increases in energy costs, we want to help residents with ways to reduce bills and improve energy efficiency in their homes. Heating your home to at least 18°C (65°F) is important to keep you healthy. Especially if you are 65 or over, have reduced mobility or have an existing health condition such as heart or lung disease.
Take a look at a list of some of the schemes and grants we have available.
The Energy Savings Trust also has a lot of advice, such as:
- heating your home
- reducing heat loss
- low energy products
- quick tips to save energy
Other organisations that can help if you are worried about energy bills:
- Ofgem
- Citizens Advice Southend
- SAVs
- Southend Emergency Fund
- Money Saving Boiler Challenge provide free and easy ways to reduce your household gas use
The cost of living is going up so it is also worth checking if there is any help available for your household costs.
